Welcome to the Tutzing Library! As part of the town hall, our library contains over 45.000 books, tonie´s CD’s, DVD’s and

e-media.

Of special interest to English readers:

The library contains a large number of English books for adults and children as well as French, Italian and Spanish books.

Library Loan Policy:

To borrow books or other items from the library, you are required to fill out an application form and a library card is subsequently handed out to you.  We offer both individual membership as well as a family membership, which can be used by all persons belonging to one household.

Adult:                                   28 EUR                              44 EUR

Children and Student:            11 EUR                               22 EUR

One-time Guest                      5 EUR                                 5 EUR

You can either pay the fee in cash when you obtain your library card or remit the amount to our account.  Children under 15 years of age need a parent’s or guardian’s signature to obtain a library card.

How long can I keep my library items?

Books, tonie´s and CD’s can be lent out for up to 4 weeks.

For DVD’s and magazines the loan is 1 week.  Different loan periods apply for e-media.

Each holder of a library card is allowed to take out 10 items at a time.

If you wish to renew items you still have at home, you may do so, either by coming in personally with your library card or by calling us during our opening hours. Books and CD´s can be renewed once (for up to 4 weeks) unless the item is reserved by another reader.  

If an item that you want to take out is on loan, you may reserve it. As soon as it is returned to us, we will notify you either by phone or sending you an email.

Overdue Fees:

An overdue fee will be charged for any item which is returned later than the due date.

The fees are: 

For books, CD's, magazines:                               -,15 EUR per day

For DVD’s and tonie´s                                        1,00 EUR per day

Please note that we only charge you for the days on which the library is actually open!

Last but not Least:

Please take special care of any item that you take home from the library! If you should damage an item, please let us know right away so we can repair or replace it. You will be charged for any lost or irreversibly damaged items.
